Holiday Hacks
The holiday season is one of the best times of the year, filled with love, laughter, family, and best of all, FOOD! I’m sure I don’t only speak for myself when I say, “I tend to overeat on the holidays.” The holidays are the time of year where getting in shape and healthy again seems like a great idea. Most people can get motivated and make New Year’s resolutions to achieve their desired goals. However, people may underestimate themselves, lose motivation, or once again just become “too busy.” My ultimate goal is to help you live a happier, healthier, and better life! Some current trends going on now and trends that will continue to go on through the new year include:
● Wearable Fitness Tracking Technology
● Working out at Home
● Group Workouts
Tracking Technology
Wearable Fitness Tracking Technology is a great idea to keep you moving! The most popular fitness tracking devices are the Oura Ring and the Fitbit. While the Fitbit is more of a fitness tracking device, the Oura Ring is a sleep tracking device that provides an overview of your health and wellness. The Fitbit’s sleep tracker detects sleep patterns for time spent awake, asleep, and restless. The downfall is it relays an electrical magnetic frequency that, in the long run, is harmful. The benefit of the Oura Ring is that it does not. The Oura Ring is a specific sleep tracking device that will track REM, light and deep sleep, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, body temperature, and more. Wearable Fitness Tracking Technology can be very beneficial and help you achieve your long-term goals!
Working out at Home
Quarantine started a trend of working out at home. Home workouts are a way for people to get and or stay fit without the luxury of going to the gym or simply because it was a life decision. There are many benefits to working out at home. Working out at home saves travel time, waiting for equipment, freedom to workout on your time, and low cost. Ultimately this is a trend that, for a lot of people, formed into a habit. Make it your new year’s goal to find the time to get in shape in the comfort of your own home!
Group workouts
Group workouts have become a significant trend over the last several months. Whether that means doing spin classes, hot yoga, or working out with a few pals, it is a common trend that seems to be very beneficial. Since the start of quarantine, a lot of group classes have transitioned to online. The great thing about it being online is that it’s in the convenience of your own home! Additionally, when you start exercising with a group of people, you will feel more motivated and accountable. You will have more structure and more support. Most of all, you will have more fun!!
The holidays maybe a stressful time of the year. With that said, think of the new year as the beginning of a new chapter. Make a plan going into the new year to achieve your desired goals.
