Your Four Steps to a Perfect Morning
- Hydrate- drink 8-16 ounces of water upon waking.
- Create a positive mindset- use the heart maths breathing technique or meditation; see below for instructions.
- Movement- get your blood flowing, do 30 seconds to 3:00 minutes of movement that gets your heart pumping! Be sure to select something that is within your current capabilities.
- Sunlight- Expose your skin to sunlight or use a happy light for five minutes.
Breathing technique from the Institute of HeartMath-
Begin by placing the palm of your hand over your heart (this starts the secrete oxytocin, this is the love hormone) now focus on the area of your heart, pretend you are breathing in and out through your chest love, ease and compassion and exhale normally. Slowly and gently until breathing feels smooth and not forced. Continue to breathe with ease until you find a natural inner rhythm that feels good to you.
As you continue to breathe in love, ease and compassion, recall a positive feeling, a time when you felt great inside. Imagine you are reliving that experience, and Allow yourself to feel the sensations and emotions associated with it. Aim for a minimum of three minutes.
